Vans hired artist Chris Johanson to design a “beach shack” for the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. The shack sat in the middle of the beach during the contest and featured a bunch of experimental art boards made by various surf celebrities. Chris brought his unique style of using recycled and found materials to create something that celebrated art-making that uses more sustainable materials and approaches. We created a video document that showed Chris’ approach to art and the making of this beautiful piece of environmental art.
